The SORA, Polkaswap, and Fearless Wallet projects are all closely related as they form integral parts of the SORA and DOTSAMA ecosystems (of which SORA is a part). That is why development status updates are released every two weeks for these three projects, in one convenient place, with development updates from across the community. Enjoy the February 9, 2023 Ecosystem updates!

Welcome to the February 9th Ecosystem Updates!

You are Here

The SORA Integrated Plan https://sora.org/plan

They say that change is the only constant and as you can see by the overall look of the SORA Integrated Plan, we are no exception. Last time Ecosystem Updates introduced this new look, but we didn’t go into the details about what changed. Some of the rings in the update are completed. This means that with the experience and newfound powers, we have obtained through the hard work of completing these milestones, we can move forward, as a community toward the uncharted waters of new and amazing challenges, with the knowledge that, if anything, we will come out harder, better, faster, stronger on the other side.

Every track of the Integrated Plan has made great progress, but we will omit the milestones that are completed and provide an update on the ongoing ones, then finally jump into the new features being worked on.

First, we will cover the business track. Ongoing activities to increase SORA network adoption and educate new users as well as crypto degens on what makes SORA special, never end and are being done continuously. Thank you to each and every community member who provides suggestions and constructive solutions to improve the educational messaging about SORA.

We are happy to announce that there is great progress with the SORA Card and SORA IBAN. This is more complicated than the movement of a Swiss clock, so it has taken plenty of time to get each wheel moving precisely, although some wheels are more difficult to integrate than others. There may have been a few delays along the way, but there is always progress. This time is no different, and the SORA Card Phase 1 is right around the corner, with public testing of the SORA Wallet’s SORAlution test app, available today on Google Play for Android and on TestFlight for iOS! We hope you participate and help us find any issues ahead of launch.

SORA Wallet’s SORAlution test app available today on Google Play for Android and on TestFlight for iOS!

The new focus in the business track will be on Polkaswap as a Service. On a high level, this is a program to provide increased liquidity for tokens within the DOTSAMA space, including parachains. Many times tokens are only available on CEXs or from parachain lease auctions, making it difficult for users to obtain them. The Polkaswap as a Service program seeks to help make these (and all tokens) to be available to users with the style and freedom they have become accustomed to with Polkaswap.io. More information and progress will be available soon, so watch this space!

Let’s move on to the backend track. The SORA Kusama parachain and subsequent SORA Polkadot parachains are a strong focus, however, there are fundamentals that need to be in place before bidding in the candlelight auction; in our case, that would be the parachain bridges that will connect these slots to the SORA mainnet. There is great progress on the Kusama parachain bridge and it is now undergoing rigorous testing by the QA team, while some devs continue to work on addressing all the issues raised, like clockwork. The trustless EVM bridge will come further along the pipeline. Focusing on each piece of crucial infrastructure at a time allows for work of better quality, which in turn is safer and more efficient.

Along with the work connecting the SORA network to other networks, there is also plenty of internal work going on to strengthen, upgrade, and future-proof the SORA blockchain. Work on Order book functionality being one of them. That’s right, Polkaswap will have order books added to it to allow for limit orders to be executed in combination with XYK liquidity pools.

The SORA economy guides the development of the network, and a key element to this is the creation of money for productive purposes. The only way that money can be productive is if it holds it’s value, or in other words, if it’s stable. This is where the SORA Synthetics platform comes in. Backed by the XST token, and ruled by XST Tokenomics, the platform will be able to produce stable assets that hold their value against many existing real-world assets, reducing the risk of volatility that cryptos are subject to due to their speculative nature. On the other hand, we also mentioned that TBCD, a new stablecoin which is now live, will be used to fund project development and the creation of goods and services in the SORA economy.

https://test.polkaswap.io

Moving on to the web track, Polkaswap.io is constantly improving the amount and quality of the data available to users. As the main liquidity source of the SORA network and of the SORA economy, it is important that the flow of information to gauge the health of the network is as accurate, accessible, and stylish as possible.

On the other hand, user adoption of the SORA network and also the Substrate ecosystem is a key priority. As an ecosystem, we all benefit from user adoption, and as humanity, we all benefit from decentralization and inclusion to the services that the Polkadot, Kusama, and SORA networks build 24/7/365.

Fearless Wallet as a Substrate-standard that even other teams have built upon, seeks to be the most convenient and user-friendly interface for users of all experience levels. In the last update, we mentioned that the ßeta release of the Fearless Wallet Browser extension is available in the Chrome web store, and we extend the ongoing invitation to try it out and give us your feedback and thoughts as work continues toward the full release.

Finally, on the mobile track, with the monumental amount of work that went into the Substrate 4 integration, SORA network assets are now available within Fearless Wallet!

As if that was not enough, Polkaswap functionality within Fearless Wallet, although currently limited to swaps, is being worked on as we speak. The team is hard at work implementing liquidity provision, which is a much-loved function by many users.

🔥 iOS v2.2.1 with Polkaswap swaps functionality now released

Speaking of liquidity provision, crypto’s best-kept secret, the Demeter farming platform is being worked on for integration into the SORA wallet mobile app. With Demeter Mobile integration you will be able to add liquidity to your favourite pools on the go, without the need for a pc! Fearlessly farm with style and freedom!

The business and mobile tracks cross at the SORA wallet integration of the SORA card. As mentioned earlier, there has been a lot of time, effort and love invested into a test version of this much-awaited functionality. It is important to mention that after testing is completed, Phase one will be available, which means XOR onramps and signups to the SORA card. Soon after, Phase two will be announced, which will include fiat top-up and ordering the physical SORA card. Stay tuned for these important milestones, which you can rest assured you will find in this section of the SORA ecosystem updates.

And last but not least, the SORA Typeface expansion is an interesting part of this track. According to Google Fonts, the SORA typeface has been featured in over 57,000 websites and being served by the Google Fonts API over 58.6 million times over the last week, therefore, it is only natural that work on optimising it and improving it is part of the SORA Integrated Plan. Upgrades and improvements will be duly announced so that you always have the most up-to-date version. As a little easter egg, the text available in the Google font type tester is part of the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights, fitting for a universal typeface.

You’re now up to speed with what has happened in the last weeks in the SORA Network and the current state of the SORA Integrated Plan. Please look forward to the upcoming news from the SORA team and see you next fortnight. Let’s get back to work!

About SORA, Polkaswap, and Fearless Wallet

SORA is a new economic system aimed at creating a supranational multiverse economic system with built-in tools for decentralized finance (DeFi). The SORA network implements a new way of parachain architecture on Polkadot and Kusama network, with the capability to bridge external blockchains (like Ethereum) to the Polkadot ecosystem.

One of the DeFi applications that will run on the SORA network is Polkaswap, a noncustodial liquidity aggregating, cross-chain AMM DEX designed uniquely for the Polkadot ecosystem with boundless liquidity through its one-of-a-kind Aggregate Liquidity Technology (ALT).

Fearless Wallet is a bespoke mobile wallet designed for the decentralized future on the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem, with native support for iOS and Android platforms. A premium user experience, fast performance, and secure storage for your accounts. Fearless Wallet will integrate Polkaswap for easy, decentralized swaps of assets.
