According to an article from Science Direct, “In 2002, Sicily issued the decree 519/2002 entitled “Implementation of the extraordinary plans for the control of bovine, ovine and caprine brucellosis.” Moreover, in November 2006, the Ministry of Health issued the ‘Extraordinary veterinary police measures on tuberculosis, bovine and buffalo brucellosis, ovo-caprine brucellosis, bovine leukosis in Calabria, Campania, Puglia and Sicily’, which was modified and updated in 2012 and 2015.”

Over the years, brucellosis policies have led to the culling of thousands of livestock animals, many of which were healthy but were housed in the same farms and thus got slaughtered regardless.

This obviously has taken its toll on farmers and their ability to sustain their businesses.

According to Italy 24 News, Italian farmers also took part in a convoy earlier in the day, travelling from Giugliano to Diego Armando Maradona Stadium before stopping in Santa Lucia to protest.

As previously reported by The Counter Signal, European farmers, inspired and often in support of the Dutch Uprising, have been protesting various climate policies for weeks.

Now, global protests have been scheduled for July 23, with farmers coming together for a Day of International Demonstration against the radical climate agenda of the UN, EU, and WEF that has caused so many hardships for blue-collar workers.
