⁉️ SHOUT OUT: Has Kristy Carr, Co-Founder and CEO of ASX-listed Bubs Australia, been treated fairly? One of the very few Australian female founders and CEOs to list on the ASX. Kristy Carr has had a helluva week. Ousted by the board from her company Bubs Australia (ASX : BUB) on Wednesday, Kristy found out about her termination from an ASX announcement. After 18 years at the helm, she was prevented from saying goodbye to staff and colleagues in person. I have long held the view that once a company goes public, it’s often time for Founders to leave. Very few can navigate the painful shift in focus from customers, employees, and products to boards, shareholders, and governance. I know I couldn’t. However, putting mindset differences aside, I don’t think treating a Founder so disrespectfully and indifferently is ever okay. Kristy’s achievements were mind-boggling, breaking into #China and the #USA, navigating #Covid19, and talking with President Biden to fix the American baby formula crisis, to name a few. So I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Kristy publicly and say thank you for being such a fantastic inspiration. First month at Good Ventures Ltd. Time to stop and reflect (publicly of course because many people seem to be interested in us 😀). The world that is familiar for me, Finnish mid-cap companies, is super committed to sustainability 💚. Are they able to invest in the growth side of it in addition to the compliance side remains to be seen 💲. Operating sustainably ✅ does not automatically bring sustainable growth 💹. I truly hope that Finnish companies are able to proactively invest their thoughts and time to green growth strategies and concepts in order to catch the momentum when the shit stops hitting the fan 💡. I am lucky to get to work with some of them and figure out concepts and business models to accelerate the green transition! 😍 The world that is new to me, start-ups, is starting to unveil itself 🆕. I don't have a deeper analysis for you yet, after just participating in creating pitch decks and investor lists 💻. However, these companies seem to be born-sustainable and they are riding on the green wave 🌊. It's not easy since the resources are so scarce 🤵. I am still looking for more great examples from Finland on how born-green start-up ideas and business models have scaled through getting access to corporate resources, and in return created a new growth business for the corporation 🤝.
