Upland Introduces Tools For Third-Party Developers

Upland Community Dev Tools

Upland, the NFT-powered real estate simulator, has launched Community Developer tools that will allow third-party developers to create experiences inside the game. The community dev tools will help evolve the Upland ecosystem as players will access numerous activities, cities, and assets created by third parties.

Upland Community Developer Tools

The Community Dev Tools contain REST APIs that will help the Upland Developer Network members to deploy assets in the metaverse. In addition, they can use various programming tools, game engines, and Dev Tools to build web3 experiences such as cities, economy, digital assets, and more.

The best part is that developers don’t need to have any prior blockchain or Web3 knowledge, making it easier for Web2 developers to connect with the game. Additionally, developers can launch existing games inside the metaverse, including 2D, 3D, and VR experiences.

Upland has also introduced a new system called Dev Stores for third-party developers. Players can interact with the Dev Shops by sending their Block Explorers to these locations. Dev Shops can be discovered on the map by clicking on the purple icon inside the map.

The Dev Tools allow developers to host “pay-to-play” lobbies where players could receive rewards by spending UPX tokens. It also allows developers to create any experience they want, such as movie theater, virtual concerts, race car games with Metaverse Motors vehicles, incorporating a fully functional game involving Block Explorers, and much more.

Upland Developer Network

The Upland Developer Network (UDN) is a discord group of third-party developers interested in creating experiences for Upland. The community will help the team identify what APIs and resources are currently required for building a robust game. Currently, the Community Developer Tools are available only for UDN members, so if any developer wants to join Upland Developers Network, they need to fill Upland Developers Network Application form

Community Directory

Upland is brimming with fantastic third-party communities that cover a wide range of game topics. There are communities devoted to data analytics and technologies, strategy, the creation of node communities, networking, and other topics.

The developers have released a Community Directory page on the Upland Website to make it easy for interested people to discover these communities. Each eligible community has the option to be included on the website in their preferred category. Communities that want to be mentioned in the Directory must fill out the Community Directory Application form with the required information. ‍

‍Requirements to Become Part of the Community Directory:

  • Must be at least 60 days old
  • Must have at least 500 active members

Note: Directory requirements are subject to change depending on demand and availability.

What is the Upland game?

Upland is a property trading and city-building metaverse where players can explore cities, collect properties and meet other players. The play-to-earn game is available on Android, iOS, and the Web. The EOS blockchain powers the game, and its official token is UPX. Players can buy UPX tokens from the Upland store, which cannot be traded in the market.

Each player in Upland is given a status determined by his/her net worth or the UPX holdings. The higher the status, the more will be benefits and rewards. The different categories are Visitors, Uplanders, Director, Executive, Pro, and Chief Executive. When a user joins the game for the first time, he is assigned Visitor status.
