Less than three days after she left her position as the No. 2 corporate officer at Meta, Sheryl Sandberg is already remaking herself as one of the foremost philanthropists fighting the curtailment of abortion rights across the United States.

On Tuesday, Sandberg and the American Civil Liberties Union announced that the former chief operating officer of the company, formerly known as Facebook, was donating $3 million to fight abortion bans — money the ACLU said would be used “to protect reproductive health care in courts, legislatures, and at the ballot box over the next three years.”
