Congrats to freshman Rep Juan Ciscomani, who has been appointed to the powerful House Appropriations Committee. As a member of the Republican Steering Committee, Congresswoman Debbie Lesko nominated him. Lesko reports, “… Ciscomani was the only Republican freshman member to be seated on the committee. In this position, Juan will be able to advocate for his community and all of Arizona.” Lesko serves as the Regional Representative for Arizona on the Republican Steering Committee, which is tasked with assigning members to the committees of the House. Ciscomani was the only freshman representative to be named to the Appropriations Committee.

AZ Rep Debbie Lesko on the House passage of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act: “I was proud to cosponsor and vote for the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which provides lifesaving care to babies who survive attempted abortions. With the passage of this bill, House Republicans have proven that we care about the lives of innocent children. I simply do not understand why 210 of my Democrat colleagues voted against this bill. Why would anyone want a baby to be left for dead that was born alive?”

The Arizona Supreme Court has appointed Hon. Scott Blaney to oversee the Gila River System and Source case, as well as the Little Colorado River System and Source case, effective Feb. 4, 2023. Blaney has served on the civil and family court benches for the Superior Court in Maricopa County since 2018. The judge assigned to these cases is commonly referred to as the Water Judge. His appointment follows Judge Mark Brain who was assigned to the cases for more than 10 years. The Arizona Supreme Court appoints a superior court judge to hear water adjudication cases (A.R.S. § 45-252(C)). Prior to serving on the bench, Blaney was State Judge Advocate for the Arizona National Guard and general counsel for the Arizona Department of Emergency & Military Affairs (DEMA). He graduated from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2003 and worked in private practice until 2015. Blaney’s military service spans 28 years in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard with notable combat tours including Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced that Todd B. Tatelman, the current Principal Deputy General Counsel in the House’s Office of General Counsel, will be taking over as the acting General Counsel of the United States House of Representatives. “The House will no longer be taking hyper-politicized stances in amicus curiae or in litigation. The American people elected this majority to hold this administration accountable and to protect this institution. I believe that Todd is the right person to lead these legal efforts until a permanent General Counsel is selected,” said McCarthy. Tatelman has worked in the Office of General Counsel since November 2011 and previously served at the Congressional Research Service as a Legislative Attorney. He holds a law degree, with honors, from the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law

MCRC CANDIDATE COMMENTARY

JEFF GREENSPAN, MCRC 2nd Vice-Chair candidate: We must focus on self-governance and national self-reliance. Never give up. Never give in. Never compromise our Republican principles. Up through 2016, Maricopa County was a model to counties throughout the country for 30 years on how to conduct elections. We knew the results by the 10pm news every election for 30 years. Suddenly since Fontes, Richer, and Hobbs took over elections, Maricopa County elections have been a catastrophe, on par with Philadelphia elections.  Let’s not pretend we don’t know how it’s done – at the precinct, volunteers from each party agree on precinct counts and results and call them in.  One day voting at one’s own precinct, one ID, one person, one ballot.  Stop the nonsense.  Richer and Gates need to resign.  The MCRC needs to be the voice of the PCs, not the other way around. On Saturday, please vote for #TeamTruth – Craig, Shelby, Jeff, Lawrence, Diana.  For more information visit #TeamTruth at http://mcrc2023.com Contact Greenspan at jeff.greenspan.mcrc@proton

ROB CANTERBURY, MCRC Sergeant-at-Arms candidate: Apparently, I am woke because I used the term “Precinct Committeeman or woman” in a FaceBook post while campaigning for the Sergeant-at-Arms positions. I am pretty sure I am not woke and I am pretty sure that I am not “politically correct” most of the time. I have always empowered and promoted females in the workplace, whether in the military or civilian workforce. I even hired a female Executive Protection Agent to work with me at President Trump’s campaign HQ because I knew she could out work any 3 male protection agents. Women have fought long and hard to be recognized on the same level as men, and I will do all that I can to protect that. A female member of Congress is referred to as a Congresswoman, the same with a female city council member (councilwoman). Why can’t a female precinct committeeman be referred to as a precinct committeewoman?

SHELBY BUSCH, MCRC 1st Vice-Chair candidate: I plan to

  • Work with the Chairman to create an election integrity committee that will assist MCRC in developing and implementing our own voter database to maintain local ownership. This will bring flexibility to the LDs to download needed data for their LD, work on voter roll cleanup, and proactively work on PC recruitment and GOTV drives. This committee will also keep up to date on election related activities, communicate concerns to and from our county elections department, and work on election related legislation.
  • Assist the Chairman in creating a legislative engagement committee composed of PCs from all LDs to actively communicate with our legislators our positions on proposed legislation and initiate and/or support good legislation. Help educate the PCs on how to be citizen lobbyists.
  • Advocate to create an advisory committee composed of grassroot org leaders that will help increase party reach, communications, and manpower. Create community between the grassroots activists and candidates and the MCRC.

Contact Busch at shelby.B@unitedlibertycoalition.com

TATIANA PEÑA, MCRC 2nd VC candidate: I am so happy to meet PCs and hear their perspectives.  We have so much talent within our grassroots that we need to better put to use. We are so fortunate that our grassroots here in Maricopa are organic and native, not like the Dems which are artificial from out of state and bought. I love to network and see how to make good connections to fortify efforts. That’s why I look forward to being 2nd Vice Chair. This position is something I do naturally throughout my own district and helping the party wherever I can. Some projects I’ve helped considerably in- putting VamosAZ.com together, recruiting and helping school board candidates win in blue districts, recruiting candidates to run in various races and help them receive funding through Clean Elections, register hundreds of voters and helping them switch to Republican, recruit PCs that are active community members, table at several community events, organize parade floats, help identify where voter rolls must be cleaned, minority groups and younger voter outreach, participate in redistricting efforts at the redistricting commission, media interviews in English and Spanish, PC trainings, community service projects and community groups outreach, helping two different Republican Hispanic Outreach offices open in South Phoenix, walking over 20,000 doors in various campaigns, signature gathering, organizing electioneering for polling locations, recruit poll workers/observers, and more. I hope to bring a lot to the MCRC that can help our party overcome issues with Election Integrity in Maricopa, empower PCs more, and engage our voters more effectively. I am happy to run with a strong, hardworking team which includes Jan Dubauskas (Chair), Eric Morgan (1st Chair), Tatiana Pena (2ndChair), Dan Grimm (Secretary), and Charlie Schinke (Treasurer). I hope to earn your vote! Please visit- www.arizonafirstmcrc.com

STEVE SAAF: Tyranny: “Physician Misinformation Bill” Goes Into Effect as Law in California, Prevents Doctors From Speaking Freely, Could Lose Their Medical License: Physician-Misinformation-Bill-Goes-Into-Effect-As-Law-In-California-Prevents-Doctors-From-Speaking-Freely-Could-Lose-Their-Medical-License

BRIAN FERENCE: I called a PC in LD4 and they have no restriction on firearms. With a meeting right before LD3 in the same location it is very strange for Candace Czarny to go against the Republican Platform and 2nd Amendment and add a no firearms rule. I call on Candace Czarny to immediately strike this Unconstitutional and UnRepublican rule. What is she, a Democrat Tyrwebsant?

DEBBY TRUDEAU, LD3 PC: To disruptors, destructors and subversives:  Whose payroll are you on anyway?  Who is your employer?  How can you be gainfully employed with the amount of time spent in meetings, in email, and on social media trying to decimate and destroy the conservative party in Arizona?  Who is paying you to do this? And, what is your motivation?
You are not originalists in this monstrous movement.  My home state (Washington) has been attacked by you leftist subversives for many years now.  You labeled all Republican incumbents as “RINOS”, bullied your way into county and legislative district meetings demanding that it be “your way or the highway” driving out those who do not agree with you.  You fulfill the left’s message that Republicans are unhinged, radical white supremacists. Democrat states know you.  Your sights are set on Arizona and other red states.  You find the unsuspecting grassroots conservatives and bring them into your fold; brainwash them with your group-think propaganda; teach them how to take over control of meetings and events using manipulation and bullying; and minimize life-long Republican activists as “RINOS”, cheaters, liars and worse.   You are always “right” and “righteous” while everyone else is wrong and liars.  It’s unfortunate so many conservatives become enamored with you.  They cannot discern that you are actually leftists who are paid to destroy the Republican Party state by state until you have obliterated the party nationwide.  I know how you work.  I have experienced your leftist tactics firsthand for many years before moving to Arizona.  This is and has been the goal of the Democrat Party.  I expect you to immediately expose yourselves by responding in tomorrow’s Briefs that I am a rino, liar or worse.  But, my question remains:  Who is paying you? And, what is your real motivation?

FRANK RIZZO: I have grave concerns about the TeamTruth slate.  A year ago, in September, Supervisor Steve Chucri was embarrassed into resigning when a secret recording of him was released by 1st Vice-Chair candidate Shelby BuschMaricopa-County-Supervisor-Steve-Chucri-Caught-Leaked-Recording-Maricopa-County-Voting-Machine-Company-Audit-Recount-Pretty-Bullsht-Way-Audio Chucri was the only supervisor who would listen to our side (read the leaked transcript in the article) and after he resigned, we had no one left on the board who would listen at all.  We could have really used someone willing to listen on the BoS in 2022! How will any elected officials needed to fix election integrity feel about meeting with an Executive Board member that uses these tactics? And this seems to be their tactics. We have so much we need to accomplish with our legislators and much of it involves strategy we can’t telegraph to the Democrats. This type of behavior doesn’t inspire trust and it won’t get the job done. I’m voting for America First Team.

RANDY MILLER & CLAIR VAN STEENWYK – Comments on Support of Candidates for Maricopa County GOP Party Leadership: We need strong, active people unafraid to reach out to PC’s and speak out on issues of real importance.  Dealing with the corruption of our elections and government actors; being a real voice of opposition while proposing real solutions is needed in addressing our border, digital currency, digital ID, illegal legislation etc.  Our party leadership should be encouraging all LD’s to focus on a common goal in addressing real issues and taking control of the rhetoric and dialogue while forcing the legislative body to address our concerns.  Just speaking “We need unity” is an empty statement without defining what that is, our Constitutions. Not uniting behind a party that has no direction just because it is “Party”.  Every Republican legislator is a member of the party and subject to OUR party rules and guidelines.  They work for us and are to follow the constitutions of Arizona and the United States.  Someone running for county chair stood up with passion and stated her determination to battle “election integrity”, but had no specific plan other than an excited rant on the subject.  She emphasized our need to “Unite”, but like so many others, without definition of what we unite under.   I asked what specifically she planned to do about elections.  She said “there is no smoking gun”.  I listed two under the constitution of Arizona and two violations of law under ARS, Title 16.  She said, “I don’t know how we can get back to this”.  What a statement after a passionate conviction of being a “voice” for the party.  She and the others won’t get my vote because I was unimpressed with their overall “team” presentation, other than raising money. My vote goes to Craig Berland, Shelby Busch, Jeff Greenspan, Diana Jones, and Lawrence Hudson.  Miller is a LD 28 PC/SC & Clair Van Steenwyk is a Registered GOP Activist & Voter

BRIAN REILLY: “And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”  John 8:32. This is the Bible verse that is engraved in the lobby of the CIA in the original headquarters building. Reportedly, CIA Director Allen Dulles wanted the Bible verse engraved in stone.  In context, the Bible verse refers to the teachings of Jesus Christ to non-believers.  In verse John 8:40, Jesus states: “But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God…” In verse, John 8:44, Jesus Christ states: “Ye are of your father the devil and the lusts of your father will ye do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in truth, because there is no truth in him…”  Recently we’ve learned the American Intelligence Community (IC), using American businesses, censored and manipulated our First Amendment Right to free speech during the 2020 Presidential Election.  The IC using Twitter and other social network platforms censored President Trump and his followers and prevented truth from being broadcast to the voters. Senator Schumer(D.) warned Trump that the Intelligence Community would attack Trump seven ways from Sunday.  They did.  Essentially, the American Intelligence Community, through lies, deception and censorship, overthrew our government and the Office of the President of the United States and successfully installed Joe Biden as President. The CIA has a history of election interference.  Reportedly, from 1965-1975, 32% of CIA projects approved were for interference in foreign elections and 29% were for media propaganda projects.  Between the CIA, the FBI and the other alphabet agencies, it appears they were responsible for the November 3, 2020 election coup d’état. By not telling the American public the truth, the American CIA has shown its allegiance to the father of lies, the devil.

CONGRESSIONAL UPDATES
Anything longer than Briefs 300 word limit is subject to editing/shortening. – ft

CONGRESSMAN PAUL GOSAR after introducing H.J.Res.7, a resolution to terminate Joe Biden’s COVID-19 national emergency powers “With the 118th Congress now underway, the first piece of legislation I once again introduced is a joint resolution to terminate the now obsolete COVID-19 national emergency declaration repeatedly extended by Biden. Emergency powers were created to give the executive branch flexibility to respond to a range of crises facing the United States. Importantly, emergency declarations require Congress to meet every six months to consider whether the emergency should be extended or terminated. By any measure, the pandemic in the United States has ended.  Even Joe Biden agrees, stating on 60 Minutes last September. So why does Joe Biden continue to demand the COVID-19 national emergency be extended?  The answer is simple, to force Americans to live under extreme measures that deprive us of our freedoms. There is no ongoing COVID-19 emergency to justify the continuation of the national emergency declaration.  Cases are down and most Americans have returned to a pre-pandemic normalcy. This hardly sounds like a country under a national emergency which is why I am calling on my colleagues and Mr. Biden to reverse course and move to give the People back their say in government,” concluded Gosar
