We all know we’re overstimulated and want to stop, but we can’t. We use app blockers, throw our phones away, and build rigid routines. But none of it works because we’re solving symptoms not the root cause. The root is our inability and cowardice to face ourselves, the thoughts, feelings and the pain that comes along. So we indulge in excessive sensory stimulation as a coping mechanism that suppresses the pain.
And then you think why you’ve been feeling so disconnected and empty even after you’re doing everything right.
