Well, I found my first hidden treasure in nature for this week’s challenge: an oak knopper gall. 🌳

• I was alarmed at first, thinking “oh no, look at the wonky acorns, all these beautiful oak trees are diseased”.

• But nope, they’re perfectly healthy despite their scars.

According to the Royal Horticultural Society, these abnormal growths, or galls, enclose developing wasp larvae and are part of the biodiversity a healthy oak tree supports. 

So l learned something new about nature and maybe gained a different perspective on the challenges of life - perhaps I can view them as part of the biodiversity of my healthy body and mind, that help me grow, rather than purely obstacles to overcome. ✨
