beyond just the fact we should eliminate the desire to name/categorize everything, i think my issue with these type of aesthetic photo collections is that they are devoid of context. from looking at these two images, the left is edits on a screenplay - something you wouldn’t be doing unless you were a director/writer/producer working on a film - and then the right looks to be in another language so i can’t understand what they’re writing about but i’m assuming… notes for a class? it’s much more enriching to know how each of these people take notes, what they’re writing about, why they’re handwriting, etc. rather than just leaning into “the aesthetic” of note-taking which can lead to just scribbling nonsense for the purpose of having a tastefully messy looking notebook.
