Love that the Glossy article quoted Allison Bornstein. She is a big cheerleader for the belt and I think a reason they are trending. Focused on styling vs acquiring fashion helps us rethink how we wear our clothes and this is driving a focus to the belt. Also, retailers and designers seem to be investing in this space. Khaite, dehanche, aureus and andersons are a few of the brands doing A+++ belt design.

“The everyday belt has become spring’s hottest accessory. Madewell has seen a ‘huge spike in belt sales, more than doubling its business [in the category] over the last year,’ and at Anine Bing, ‘wholesale orders on belts are up 250% from last year,’ said Olivia Gentin, the brand’s COO. ‘We’re seeing this growth both from expanding the offering in the category and from greater overall demand at a per-style level.’”
