The app for independent voices

What if the non-obvious implication of AI is that it ends up getting us back in offices? And reinvigorates community by destroying social media?

Pickle enables people to pretend they're sitting at their laptops on video calls, even if they're on the sofa, in a hammock, etc). From just $24/mo, from a 5-minute training video 🤯

It reminded me of Parallel Live, which I wrote about last year – an app straight out of Black Mirror which allows people to fake that they're streaming to thousands of people.

You don't have to be a futurist to see where this is headed:

↳ Zero trust in remote workers

↳ Zero trust in social media content

↳ Zero ethical boundaries for those who 'fake it'

However I suspect the future normal won't be quite as dystopian as I'm suggesting. We'll adapt, with:

↳ Cultures that focus on output > presence for remote workers.

↳ Clever new ways to verify the authenticity of 'live' content online.

↳ A resurgence of in-person events and meetups for communities.
