people spend their entire lives searching for the chance to have their hearts touched in a way that changes them. even if it doesn’t last, even if it ends in silence or distance, there is something rare in having been chosen at all. to think, “how lucky am i to have something to ache for”. to have been loved, however briefly, is to have lived more than many ever will.
