Make money doing the work you believe in
Dear one. The day you look at me with stars in your eyes, I will be undone. You will have me and more, in a way you could never have predicted.
And the scary, sad, slightly exhilarating thing is: I know that day may never come, in this lifetime anyway.
So, what to do?
Well, in a way, nothing. We don’t quite show up in hope, that’s future-tripping, and it can add pressure, however good our intentions to not add pressure. We show up trying to stay aware of our patterns, staying close to our friends who feed the wise part of us daily with whatever stimulant of choice keeps us awake. As close to conscious as we can be, so we can keep seeing the Other Person for who and what they truly are: a person. With their own hang-ups, stories, patterns, expectations, both conscious and unconscious.
It’s like trying to keep your eyes open on the rollercoaster. Sometimes it works, sometimes not—and still, that’s the intention.
Why bother riding the rollercoaster if you’re going to negotiate with the experience, I hear you ask? Well, each to their own, and for me, when it is chosen consciously, rather than something we fall into through lack of concentration, it’s still the best ride in town.
