Jungians : Jung (at his most inspired/Red Book) = “Christians” : Christ/Gospels.

You have most times conflated Christ/Gospels with “Christianity”, discounting the former by the miseries/untruth of the latter, and I always object to that (isually, silently); I take the same approach to Jung. Faithful disciples of a genius (or an envoy from God) are ever so rare: they will most likely yield to pressures, and be swayed by eartlhy appetites. I focus on the seed, the source, and the pure spring. The rest, be it most of “Jungianism” or Christian theology, is something almost unrelated (when not divergent/opposite), where the bureaucratic spirit prevails (and co-optation by the establishment occurs physiologically, without even the need for intentionality).

I have a lot of respect for James Hillman, though (also for R. D. Laing, but I don't think he is a follower of Jung); he is one genuine Jungian (which means: no establishment friendliness, within limits imposed by self-preservation, and healthy criticism of the founder, while sharing the same outlook and spirit of enquiry).
