Always wanted to have enough money to be able to walk up to a family in the grocery store and offer to pay for their cart.

Not on film or whatever. Just…quietly.

So I saw this family in the aisle clearly doing the familiar math. Can we afford this? What do we have to put back? And then I was at the self checkout and finishing up and that family was there, ringing up, checking how much each item added to the total looking stressed.

Had just gotten paid. So I went over, asked if I could buy their groceries, the daughter explained to her mom who looked confused, and I just stupidly said “feliz navidad?”

She nodded, I paid, and sort of skedaddled. I heard the daughter say “bless you.”

It was so lovely to have the resources to do. Grateful.
