K people, I have come up with a personal plan for this new years weekend; it’s been -40 degrees F at my home for the last couple weeks and no break in this coldsnap is expected until next week, so, I’m pretty much housebound, which pretty much restricts my ranting and raving to Substack (no facebook, nor yikyak, or prime, yes I deleted all those accounts including WAPO, NYT, and Bezos online shopping, the only TV subscription in this house is PBS) ; so friends, neighbors, and allies (yes Canada, I am referring to you and the EU) y’all are stuck with me this weekend…So let’s see: 2 bottles Rose, sixpack of lime flavored French fuzzy water, half a gallon of moojuice, half a pitcher of Chaga tea…plenty of “groceries”…background noise either endless old hippy noise from my youth in the sixties and seventies in my personal library and/or movies; starting with the original Dune, then both editions of Bladerunner (the best Scifi movie of all time) and the entire six seasons of The Expanse (love me some space cowboys) (ground control to Major Tom take your protein pills and put your helmet on)…no, friends, neighbors, and allies I haven’t gone over the edge or round the bend to put it politely…Monday is coming; Monday is truly the start of rescue of America and the demise of MAGA and it’s figurehead DJT… Here in Fairbanks we have started a tradition; Evey Monday we “pack the offices” of our US Senators and Representatives and write out POMs (personal opinion messages); these POMs are in the Que ahead of e-mails…So far, we witnessed a subtle change in our Senator Lisa Murkowski and it is evident in her response e-mails; so, that’s already on the agenda for Monday, but wait there’s more, we will also visit our state legislators to make sure they understand what the goals of the upcoming legislative session are and what we expect…Remember people, change doesn’t come from Washington, or Ottawa, or Brussels; change comes to Washington and Ottawa and Brussels…so gird your loins friends, neighbors allies…change begins at the grassroots and know with a certainty that a return to the moral arc of history is before us in 2026…
