Notes

I don’t have time to send out a full issue today, but I do have time to send you all a MAX PLAY through the Substack Notes feature. Buckle in boys, you’re going to want to tail this one.

2u - Dodgers team total over 3.5 (-142)

BetOnline has released the Dodger team total over/under at 3.5 with the “over” priced at -142. That, my friends, is a must-take. Bovada and BetNow have the same though it’s priced at -145, and BetUS has -150. All of them are max-play worthy IMO. SD starter Yu Darvish has been great lately, and he actually has good stats vs the Dodgers (.704 OPS against), but the Dodgers have been tearing the cover off the ball over the last 10 days. I am not worried about a letdown spot here, as the Dodgers/Padres rivalry atmosphere will fire these hitters up on a warm summer night in San Diego.

Despite Darvish’s good history with the Dodgers, Freddie Freeman absolutely crushes him. Freeman is 9 for 28 with 3 HR and 4 RBIs and a 1.101 OPS. As the tone-setter in this Dodgers’ offense, I expect him to get the bats going at Petco today.

While the Padres also do definitely play in a pitcher’s park, I expect this to be a high-scoring game nonetheless. Incredibly, 60% of bets are on the under, while 94% of the money is on the over in this one. That SCREAMS sharp money on the over, and is one of the biggest ticket/money differences I have ever seen. The Padres are hitting 3rd in MLB the last 10 days and the Dodgers are 5th. So, if you want to bet on over 8.5 at +100 odds I wouldn’t hate on you for that either.

On the road, the Dodgers are guaranteed 9 innings of ABs, and the way they are crushing it they should get to 4 measly runs. I am willing to back them to score over 3.5 at -160 or better for a max play.

Now go make plans for the weekend and let your bookie cover the tab with this bet.
