Make money doing the work you believe in
Yesterday I wrote about reports that the US and Israel are preparing to hit Iran’s electricity grid, a move that would cut power to more than 10 million people in and around Tehran.
Today those reports are getting more urgent.
Multiple outlets, citing sources close to the planning, say strikes on power plants and refineries could come as soon as tonight and run through the weekend. One report says the operation could stretch up to two weeks and is meant to cut electricity across the capital.
At the same time, US embassies across the region are telling Americans to get out or be ready to. Alerts went out today from missions in the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and now Egypt. All warn of possible flight cancellations and airspace closures.
Worth noting that Egypt is new to this list. It’s the first time Cairo has been given the same language as the rest of the region.
That’s certainly tied to the drone strike on a US-owned gas tanker at Damietta port three days ago, the first time this war has reached Egyptian territory directly.
