There is no such thing as an underage woman. Just like there is no such thing as an underage man. There are babies. There are children. And there are adults. When a media outlet uses the phrase “underage women,” it is to soften the blow to the pedophile in question, and to lessen the horror on behalf of their victim. Call it out whenever you see it. Words are not neutral. Word choice is exactly that, a choice.
