Make money doing the work you believe in
The Internet Doesn’t Need More Content. It Needs More Truth.
A few years ago, I thought the biggest challenge in marketing was getting people’s attention. Today, I think the bigger challenge is keeping their trust.
We’re entering a time where anyone can generate a blog post, a caption, an email sequence, or a hundred “thought leadership” posts in minutes. Content is no longer hard to create. It’s everywhere. What feels rare now is content that actually says something real.
That’s where the term “AI slop” comes in. It’s the kind of content that looks polished on the surface but has no lived experience, no real perspective, and no depth behind it. It may sound professional, but it doesn’t build trust because it could have been written by anyone.
The problem is not AI. The problem is using AI to replace our thinking instead of sharpen it.
AI can help organize ideas, research faster, edit, repurpose, and distribute. That is powerful. But AI cannot live your life. It cannot build your business through uncertainty, move across the world chasing a dream, recover from failure, learn through heartbreak, create community, or discover what your work actually means through experience.
That lived experience is what makes content valuable.
One of the questions I hear often is, “Will AI replace marketers?” My honest answer is that I don’t think most businesses have an AI problem. I think they have a clarity problem.
AI amplifies what already exists. If your message is unclear, AI scales confusion. If your offer is weak, AI scales mediocrity. If your values are misaligned, AI scales disconnection. But if your message is clear, your purpose is authentic, and your value is real, AI becomes one of the most powerful tools we have for amplifying impact.
This is one of the reasons I created AI True Value. I’m not interested in helping people create more content just for the sake of being visible. I care about helping entrepreneurs, brands, and mission-driven leaders communicate their true value more clearly.
The businesses that win in this next era will not necessarily be the ones publishing the most. They will be the ones people trust. The ones with a clear identity, a strong point of view, and a message rooted in something real.
People don’t follow information. They follow perspective. They follow conviction. They follow people who are willing to say what they actually believe.
That is why personal story matters. That is why thought leadership matters. That is why your voice matters.
Before asking AI what to create next, I think we need to ask better human questions first. What have I learned that only I can teach? What do I believe that others might be afraid to say? What experience have I lived that could genuinely help someone else?
Start there. Then use AI to support the message, not become the message.
The internet doesn’t need more content.
It needs more truth.
