To stretch my writing skills — and hopefully expand my creativity, or fan the dying embers — this month I’m writing one haiku a day. Now, I am no poet, nor do I read poetry, but it’s something I’ve appreciated from afar - even if I don’t always understand it! (I watched the series “Emily Dickinson” and fell in love with her moments of inspiration - and how Death was portrayed - Wiz Khalifa, beyond.) Anyway… a haiku is three lines, and in doing my YouTube research, I feel it’s something well within my reach, albeit rudimentary compared to the pros.
I’m sharing this because it’s day 11 of March, and at the beginning of each month, I host a Substack Live to set goals and intentions for the month. As you can tell, I’m behind. I have yet to write one haiku - so this is me using a public platform as a means of accountability.
You may want to look away if you’re a poet - even if you’ve only been one for a day - as this might be more cringe than you can handle, but here goes. My first of many Haikus of March!
The moon is eclipsed
The plane is covered by clouds
I look up, nothing there
