Fox/Trump have not won over everyone over 65. Stop blaming age groups. Stop blaming in general. Too many people of all ages want exactly what Trump/MAGA is doing. They want wealth and power at any cost. They do not value justice, human rights or freedom. These people have always existed — full of cruelty, hate and prejudice.

For a few decades, we believed we had made huge strides forward and had overcome the causes of past atrocities (slavery; Native Americans). We were wrong. These selfish people neither learned nor changed. We are seeing a country far different than the one we were taught existed.

The democratic country I was taught I lived in during school, college and even law school does not exist. This is a place where people are imprisoned without cause or evidence, elections are illegally tampered with publicly and the military is shortly to become a fixture in every region that refuses to capitulate. This is called fascism, totalitarianism, authoritarianism, rule by monarchy, oligarchy or whatever. It is eons away from the democracy I was told I lived in.

Stop blaming. Start rebuilding our laws and country to restore a true democracy, one free of the lobbyists, private campaign financing and all the corruption extreme wealth has been creating for decades — long before Trump.

We must go forward to rebuild a true grassroots democracy where each individual votes and each vote counts equally. No current political party will accomplish this. The Democratic Party is non-functional. We must stop private campaign financing, lobbying, the Electoral College and the influence of wealth.

Join a coalition for democracy. Join those who want democracy — whether liberal, conservative, Democratic, traditional Republican, independents. Such coalitions are forming. Look for them.
