Thoughts on God’s mercy and the Prodigal Son:

I have always imagined the father in this story sitting on a big wrap around front porch. In my mind’s eye, it is the southern porch of my dreams with enormous ferns hanging from the eaves and rocking chairs. It’s built on a house that rests on a hill so that from the porch, you can see for miles. You can see the dusty road that passes by and into the next town. You can see travelers like little ants on the horizon on their journey.
