I was having a conversation with my partner about my starting this, especially knowing some of the content could cost me my job, when we 100 percent can’t afford it.

They were talking about helping me carve out some time to write when I have to do a massive amount of OT. They say, “Well of course, I want to make sure you can do your real job”, and I’ve never felt so loved.

When I was a kid, I wanted to go into a field that I would have loved. Then I was told it “wouldn’t make money,” and that devastated me. Whether this makes money or not, this is my passion. I wrote an article about how our modern world is so focused on money that we can’t do what we love. I’m grateful I happened onto this place, because I was feeling so, so defeated and helpless. Even if my work reaches only a few people, it’s worth it.
