The app for independent voices

Here is how we are going to get through the next couple weeks:

--Left foot, right foot, left foot, breathe.

--Give to the poor every chance you get--We are not hungry for what we’re not getting, but for what we’re not giving.

--Radical Self care--walks, baths, naps, herbal tea, Below Deck, People magazine, puzzles, lots of music, fires in the fireplace or candles. Little indoor altars. If possible, cat therapy, if cat is in the mood.

--I don’t keep my anxiety and overload a secret. I say the words out loud to a trusted friend or my persona husband or son The best acronym for fear I ever heard, besides Future Events Already Ruined, is the Frantic Effort to Appear Relaxed. I call my best friends on bad days and say, “I hate everyone and all of life,” and they say, “I am SO glad you called--Want to go to Target?” and then I am halfway home. Driving around with a best friend listening to the Beatles--heaven, for right now, and that is all we ever have.
