And understanding that being interesting (as in, people liking talking to you) is mainly about finding out what their passion subjects/what their perspective is. Saying as little as possible (beyond positive value judgments) and enjoying hearing people tell you about what they love to talk about (themselves, their family or their passion) makes conversations really enjoyable. Close friends are who you talk to freely, everyone else you give space to to heard to (and over time some of them end up as close friends as you discover you are 'good fits' for each other and increasingly share vulnerabilities mutually)
