The “Effectively Wild” Giants’ season preview mentioned that they haven’t had a player hit 30 home runs post Bonds, which traces to 2008. That’s awful. So I was really surprised to see the 2021 Giants among the all-time best single-season home run hitting teams, with 241. I knew about the 107 wins, and I remember that their stats for that year were legitimate, at least from a Pythagorean perspective, but 241 home runs still did not go with excelling in a Giantsy kind of way.
