What’s so bad about voter ID laws?

Voter suppression is often couched as voting security/integrity. In order to suss out what the true motives might be, it’s helpful to understand what the impact is likely to be and who might be adversely affected. Don’t take justification of the proponents of the SAVE Act at face value. If you just ask the average person whether they support requiring a photo ID to vote, the majority of people think it sounds reasonable. But if you did a little deeper, it becomes clear that it is a solution in search of a (non-existent) problem. And the net effect would be to disenfranchise millions of voters - voters whose voices are increasingly drowned out by the oligarchs and reactionary MAGA supporters (and especially the fascist Republicans in congress).
