Michelle Obama’s 2020 documentary “Becoming” saw a rise in Netflix streaming of more than 13,000%—with 47.5 million minutes viewed—on the same weekend that “Melania”, the vanity documentary-cum-money laundering grift, was released in theaters.

This article doesn’t mention that in America, “Becoming” reached #8 in the “most viewed” rankings on the platform. Nor does it mention that Netflix responded by then recategorizing “Becoming” to the “kids movie” classification. The documentary does have an inspirational message for children, I suppose. But it was suspicious. And ultimately funny, because if it was meant to be a counter move, it was a bit late. The statement had been made.
