Tina and I were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham. We extend our heartfelt prayers and condolences to his family, his staff, and the many South Carolinians whose lives he touched through decades of public service.
Senator Graham was always a friend to Dorchester County. Time and again, he understood the importance of investing in the transportation infrastructure our growing community needs, and he consistently worked to help move those priorities forward.
In fact, I was with Lindsey just a week ago here in Dorchester County, and the focus of our conversation was transportation. Even then, he was discussing the work still to be done and the projects he hoped to advance for the benefit of our region. That commitment to South Carolina never wavered.
Whether we agreed on every issue or not, there was never any question about his love for our state or his willingness to fight for what he believed was in its best interest. South Carolina has lost a devoted public servant, and our nation has lost a senator whose influence will be felt for years to come.
May God grant comfort to all who mourn his passing, and may He bless the memory of Senator Lindsey Graham. Godspeed.
