The South African influencer recorded an Instagram video calling out #DonaldTrump and #ElonMusk for pushing a false narrative about South Africa. Speaking from his home country, he said, “To my American friends who might be tempted to believe what Trump is saying about South Africa—don’t.” He slammed both Trump and Musk as “racist twats” and accused them of amplifying the claims of AfriForum, a far-right group made up of “disaffected whites disgruntled by the end of apartheid.” He explained that land redistribution efforts aren’t about persecuting white South Africans but about correcting deep historical imbalances—pointing out that white South Africans, who make up just 7% of the population, still own roughly 70% of the country’s viable land.
The influencer also called out how these figures equate equality with oppression, saying, “When the oppressor looks at something like equality, it suddenly becomes oppression to him.” He dismissed Trump’s sanctions, aid cuts, and tariffs as political theater and emphasized South Africans’ resilience, saying, “We’ve been through far worse.” He ended with a message of unity and defiance: “Let’s stick this out. Let’s stick up the middle finger to Trump and Musk.” His message comes in response to Trump’s February 2025 executive order halting aid to South Africa while fast-tracking refugee status for white Afrikaners—moves widely condemned by South African officials and human rights organizations.
