This one, this one... stole my heart so completely and utterly 20+ years ago. I am forever grateful that life gave me such a companion in a world where I have also known a deep sense of aloneness.

He saw me... really saw me, when I could barely see myself.

Loved me not in spite of all my cracks, but because of them.

Held me through storms I didn’t think I’d survive.

Sat in silence with me when there were no words.

Laughed with me in the darkest of nights and reminded me, again and again, of the light I carry.

He has been my mirror, my challenger, my refuge.

Walking beside me, hand in hand, steadfast through it all.

This man, with the kindest eyes and the strongest heart, has shown me what devotion looks like. What partnership can truly be.

Together we’ve grown, stumbled, risen, fallen, and risen again.

Each time, deeper in love, deeper in trust, deeper into this beautiful, mysterious unfolding of life together.
