Glyphosate and Moderna mRNA Flu Shots Back on the Table. Selected articles. Posted 02/20/26

Hello all,

Below are four lightly summarized articles (thank you, ChatGPT) about recent developments with glyphosate (considered by many to be toxic to humans and other species) and Moderna mRNA flu shots (first rejected, then accepted by FDA).

Images are from the articles.

  1. Trump Signs Order Declaring Glyphosate Production as Critical to National Security. By Troy Myers (Epoch Times).

  2. Stop the Farm Bill’s gifts to Big Ag before Monday Feb. 23. By Stand for Health Freedom.

  3. Trump Directs USDA to Make More Glyphosate, Signals Liability Protection for Pesticide Makers. By Brenda Baletti, Ph.D. (The Defender, Children’s Health Defense).

  4. I told you so: Prasad-Moderna standoff lasted less than a week. FDA folded. By Sasha Latypova.

ED NOTE
We’re not happy with these developments.

There ARE alternatives to glyphosate! See anything written or recorded by Joel Salatin — and even RFK Jr once upon a time — for great information.

And there ARE alternatives to vaccines — especially mRNA platform genetic therapies. The known harms of most vaccines do not outweigh the benefits (lots of science to support this assertion). Vaccination alternatives include: Successful techniques for early (and even late) treatment; disease prevention with many forms of lifestyle that we all know about; continued measures such as clean air, clean water; untainted food; uncrowded living conditions.

Please check out the articles linked below and then form your own opinions about what it all means.

1️⃣ Trump Signs Order Declaring Glyphosate Production as Critical to National Security. The chemical has come under fire by the MAHA movement, with thousands of lawsuits across the country claiming exposure to it causes multiple types of cancer. By Troy Myers (Updated: 2/19/2026, may require Epoch Times subscription)

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Feb. 18, 2026 under the Defense Production Act declaring the domestic production of glyphosate-based herbicides and elemental phosphorus — chemicals used in widely used herbicides and in various agricultural and industrial applications — as critical to U.S. national security and food-supply security. Trump stated no viable alternatives exist for efficient American agricultural production. Trump’s order to ensure an adequate domestic supply and support production triggered reactions from proponents and critics of glyphosate’s health impacts and legal liability.

2️⃣ 🔥 Stop the Farm Bill’s gifts to Big Ag before Monday Feb. 23. By Stand for Health Freedom (received via email on 02/19/26.

Agricultural industry groups are seeking liability protections for pesticide-related harms, including through provisions in the proposed 2026 Farm Bill released on February 13, 2026.

The Farm Bill provides a liability shield for pesticide manufacturers and automatically exempts gene-altered plants from Environmental Protection Agency regulation.

Similar efforts were previously pursued at the federal level and in several states, with reported success in North Dakota and Georgia and pauses or setbacks in other states.

Also, a recent executive order from President Trump designated glyphosate as a national security issue.

Stand for Health Freedom urges readers to contact the House Agriculture Committee to oppose the liability shield and maintain regulation of gene-edited plants.

3️⃣ Trump Directs USDA to Make More Glyphosate, Signals Liability Protection for Pesticide Makers. President Donald Trump invoked the Defense Production Act of 1950 to expand domestic production of glyphosate, the controversial weedkiller at the center of more than 60,000 cancer lawsuits against Bayer. The move sparked outrage from MAHA activists and health advocates who said it puts corporate interests ahead of public health. By Brenda Baletti, Ph.D. (02/19/26)

President Donald Trump signed an executive order under the Defense Production Act directing the U.S. Department of Agriculture to increase domestic production of glyphosate—the active ingredient in widely used herbicides—and elemental phosphorus.

The order grants legal immunity to domestic manufacturers of these products when complying with federal directives.

Note that Bayer, which acquired Monsanto and produces glyphosate in the U.S., faces tens of thousands of lawsuits alleging the herbicide caused cancer.

Trump’s order has drawn criticism from activists and health advocates who oppose pesticide use.

RFK Jr. endorses executive order

U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has publicly criticized glyphosate for years. As an attorney, in 2018, he helped to win a landmark $289 million jury verdict against Monsanto for plaintiffs who said that Roundup caused their cancer.

As a presidential candidate in 2024, Kennedy said in a post on X that glyphosate is “one of the likely culprits in America’s chronic disease epidemic.”

However, in a statement reported by the (New York) Times, Kennedy said he supported the president’s decision.

“Donald Trump’s executive order puts America first where it matters most — our defense readiness and our food supply,” Kennedy said. “We must safeguard America’s national security first, because all of our priorities depend on it.”

Since taking office, Kennedy has argued that banning glyphosate would put farmers out of business and that instead it should be phased out.

4️⃣ I told you so: Prasad-Moderna standoff lasted less than a week. FDA folded. Moderna's mRNA flu poison will be rubber stamped later this year. By Sasha Latypova (02/19/26, linked below)

Sasha Latypova (in her usual spicy way) discussed the brief public disagreement between the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) official Vinay Prasad and Moderna over the company’s mRNA flu vaccine application lasted less than a week before the FDA reversed its initial refusal to review the filing.

Latypova notes that Prasad had argued the application was “not reviewable” because Moderna used a standard flu vaccine as a comparator instead of a high-dose version recommended for older adults; after a meeting involving senior agency leaders the FDA accepted a revised application and agreed to review it.

She also noted that Trump signed an EO protecting glyphosate as “national defense” item.
