The reason I reject the use of the word Aryan to describe Europeans is simple: it’s historically and genetically false. There is zero evidence that the Proto-Indo-Europeans (Yamnaya, Corded Ware, etc.) ever used that word or identity. The earliest attested use of ā́rya appears only in the Rigveda (~1500–1200 BCE) and later in Avestan texts and Old Persian inscriptions—all produced after the Indo-Iranian split from the steppe population. That means the word did not even exist until after the Proto-Indo-Europeans had split into separate branches and long after Europeans already existed as a people.

Europeans formed as a distinct genetic population between 3000–2500 BCE when Western Hunter-Gatherers + Anatolian Farmers + Steppe ancestry blended inside Europe. That mixture—not the Later Indo-Iranian migrations—created us. By contrast, the Indo-Iranians (who first used ā́rya) formed outside Europe, much later, after mixing with BMAC (Central Asian) and Indus-periphery populations. Calling Europeans “Aryan” is therefore completely backwards:

Europeans do not descend from Aryans.

Aryans did not exist until a thousand years after Europeans already did.

Aryans are a South-Central Asian Indo-Iranian population—not Europeans.

Even the Kalash people today—often cited in these arguments—are Indo-Aryan South Asians, not Europeans. They may retain some early Indo-Aryan ancestry, but that has nothing to do with Europe.

So why reject the term Aryan for Europeans?

Because it is:

✔️ And totally unnecessary

Europeans don’t need to steal someone else’s history. We have our own 5,000-year history and identity as a people that formed inside Europe—not in Iran, not in India, not in the steppe after the Indo-Iranian migration. The term European (or White, if you prefer) is already backed by real ancestry, real archaeology, real genetics, and real history.

The obsession with the word Aryan didn’t come from ancient Europe—it came from 19th-century philological errors and was later hijacked in the 20th century for ideology, not truth. Anyone still pushing it today is choosing mythology over evidence.

If we care about truth and identity, then we should embrace our real origins—not someone else’s.

And let’s also be clear on something else: if you’re going to absurdly pretend that "Aryan" really means "pure steppe ancestry," then your myth falls apart even faster. Modern genetic data is public. The people with the highest steppe ancestry today are Balto-Slavic populations (Lithuanians, Latvians, Belarusians, some Russians and Poles)—not Scandinavians, not Anglo-Saxons, not Germans. So if "Aryan" really meant "steppe," then by your own logic the Slavs would be the “master race.”

That’s exactly the opposite of what Hitler and Himmler claimed. They called Slavs "subhuman" and wanted to enslave or exterminate them—yet Slavs carry more steppe ancestry than Germans do. That alone proves this whole “Aryan racial myth” was never based on truth—it was always just propaganda dressed up as history.

But this is the bigger issue: pushing this Steppe/Aryan purity narrative is actually anti-White. It implies that modern Europeans are “impure” and “inferior” compared to some mythic ancestor—and that we need to LARP as something we are not. That line of thinking doesn’t empower Europeans—it undermines our real history and identity.

Europeans don’t need to steal someone else’s ethnic label to matter. We don’t need a fake borrowed identity from Bronze Age Iran to feel legitimate. We have 5,000 years of our own deep cultural, mythological, and genetic continuity as Europeans. That is enough.
