There are Trumpists in virtually every democratic country. They think of NATO and the EU as “globalist” organizations and their loyalty is to their ideology rather than to their countries. They’re a fifth column of a very real and dangerous sort. To them Trump - and by extension the United States - can do no wrong and they cheer on his efforts to destroy the international order and burn it all down to “own the libs”. To them, it’s all one big meme war.

In Canada, they’re represented by Maple MAGA, Alberta Separatists, the PPC, and the rest of the far right. They hate Canada and find nothing redeeming in our history or our place in the world. Their ideology is based on that hate and is grounded in disinformation, conspiracy, and active subversion.

They are a national security risk of the first order; we need to start treating them as such before we have “green men” appearing in Lethbridge.
