• 28% of all national debt has accumulated during the Trump administrations' combined tenure, for a total of $11 trillion. 8.1% has been during his second term alone.
• The most recent data shows the unemployment rate at 4.2% and underemployment rate at 7.9%. What's particularly troubling is that the Labor Force Participation rate is at 61.5%, which is in a historically low range that is only shared by data from the Covid era.
• May's inflation rate was 4.2%, sharply trending upward from 2.4% in February.
• US average price of gas is still up 20% YoY, while diesel is up 29% YoY.
• GDP rose only 2.1% in 2025. Disregarding the contraction in 2020 (-2.1%) caused by Covid disruption, you'd have to go back to 2016 to see a weaker performance. Economists are projecting 2026 to be very similar to 2025.
• 2025 had the worst goods trade deficit ever at -$1259.62 billion, and its overall trade deficit (-$926.49 billion) was only exceeded by 2022's performance (-$937.89 billion).
