Boise isn’t safe anymore…

Because the people in charge of protecting the city (Mayor Lauren McLean and the Boise Police Department), won’t.

Recently, a 25-year-old man was riding his scooter home along the Greenbelt. He was ambushed and stabbed to death and the homeless man who killed him sleeps on that same Greenbelt (the prosecutor said so in open court).

Everybody knew about him, and nothing was done.

In 2025, we passed a law meant to stop exactly this: cities the size of Boise are barred from letting people camp on public land, and the law lets the attorney general take a city to court if it refuses to comply.

Mayor McLean fought that law the whole way. She said it was “not the solution.” Her exact words: “Criminalizing homelessness has never, and will never, solve the problems associated with homelessness.”

So the camps stayed.

The city did the bare minimum.

And now an innocent man is dead.

Governor Little, you sent the National Guard to the Texas border. Where are they now? Boise is your own backyard, and it’s overrun with homeless vagrants and a mayor and police department who refuse to enforce the law and refuse to protect the people who live here.

Send the Guard.

Clear the Greenbelt.

Protect Idahoans.

Or is a deployment only worth it when there’s a camera at the border?
