The Trump Administration is turning the U.S. from a country fostering the rule of law and democracy around the world into an evil empire ready to impose its will on countries throughout the Western Hemisphere. In so doing, it makes Russia’s efforts to reimpose its will over the former Soviet Bloc and beyond look indistinguishable and thereby permissible. So too China and its long-term goal of reintegrating Taiwan. By allowing and participating in this carve-up of the world, the soul of our country is in danger of becoming unrecognizable as it hardens into ICE.
