History does not always arrive with marching boots and blaring horns. Sometimes it seeps through the cracks, subtle, quiet, almost invisible until the flood breaks. For many of us watching events unfold south of the border, the question is no longer if the United States could collapse into authoritarianism, but how bad it would have to get before the rest of the world, including Canada, takes notice.
In the face of such uncertainty, one pressing and profoundly human question arises: if ordinary Americans began fleeing tyranny, would Canada open its doors?
