Make money doing the work you believe in
Good morning, my Mary.
I don’t know what happened to this week, but I can tell you this:
I stayed sober.
There was a moment there where I had a choice.
I was having men troubles and, apparently, I was still building my God out of people. I just can’t seem to get that one right.
Then match.com sent me a $30 gift certificate toward some of their products and the first thing that popped up was gummies.
And for half a second I thought:
Gummies. Those could be good for pain.
Then I read further and realized they meant recreational gummies.
And I stopped.
I had one of those moments where I thought:
What am I doing?
So I closed the page and gave thanks—for my sobriety, for clarity of mind, and for singleness of purpose—and I went about my day.
You would think after 26 years of sobriety I wouldn’t still have to wrestle with my demons.
But I did.
The good news is I didn’t lose.
Life is good.
I’m excited because I published my first short story on my Substack page, and that was a very big deal for me.
The ladies meeting yesterday was fabulous. We’re on the Fifth Step.
And I realized something:
I don’t talk enough about what’s going on inside my own head with people.
I’m going to work on that.
And maybe… you’re going to be my people.
Love, Carrie
