If you see someone in the comments screaming:

- "JUST DO IT ALREADY!"

- "STOP SAYING CAN AND START SAYING ARE"

- "WHY ISN'T ANYONE DOING SOMETHING?!"

They're not wrong to be angry. But yelling in a comment section isn't doing something. It feels like it is. It isn't.

You know who can't hear you in the comments? Your mayor. Your state rep. Your city council member. You know what they can hear? A phone call. An email. Twenty people showing up to a meeting.

Every article I write includes an action step. Every single one. If someone has the energy to type in all caps, they have the energy to send one email. Point them to the action step.

We all agree on the problem. The difference is between people who scream about it and people who move on it. Be the person who moves. Help others do the same.
