BREAKING: Following the Justice Department’s defense earlier this week of its attorneys' actions in the Rhode Island Hospital subpoena case, U.S. District Judge Mary McElroy has referred the DOJ lawyers involved for disciplinary proceedings.
This goes beyond contempt or some in-court remedy, as has happened in an handful of other cases in the second Trump administration. McElroy is initiating disciplinary proceedings under the local rules.
Also, note that this does not stop any in-court remedies McElroy might pursue addressing the DOJ lawyers' actions.
