On July 30, the Senate HELP Committee decides whether special education functions stay at the Department of Education, or get scattered across other federal agencies that were never built to run schools.

But when I read what's actually in these two bills, S. 5046 and the Special Education Administration Protection Act, I realized this is exactly the kind of thing that sounds procedural until it shows up as a gap in your kid's IEP a year from now.
