NEW: The Trump administration’s effort to stop the buildout of offshore wind has hit yet another legal snag, with a federal judge issuing a preliminary injunction today that will let Dominion Energy continue to build its farm near Virginia.
U.S. District Judge Jamar Walker’s decision marks the third time this week that a judge has granted preliminary relief in a case challenging the Trump administration’s stop-work order.
Walker is a Biden appointee, but the other two judges to address the stop-work order were Republican appointees.
While the Trump administration has said the farms pose national security risks, the developers have said the government’s move runs counter findings made during a lengthy review that determined the projects were safe to proceed.
