Trump's so-called SAVE AMERICA Act is a 100% Voter Suppression Act intended to take us back to the Jim Crow days. Donald hates civil rights, and wants to strip our must vulnerable Americans, and millions of women, of their voting rights. Rigging the midterms is the only way he can win, and he's desperate AF as losing means investigations, impeachment, conviction, removal and prison.
His cruel white supremacist act impacts Black communities, poor communities and women the most. Regardless of what Trump and his lackey MAGA Republicans say, IT IS NOT A VOTER ID ACT. Showing ID to vote has bipartisan support. Fuck, I have no problem showing my ID to vote.
But this is cumbersome & confusing Proof of Citizenship Act that would require a birth certificate just to register, and a passport to vote. Or some combination - nobody knows exactly how the states would implement this voting corruption.
Don't have your passport handy?
Many poor Americans do not have passports.
Many Black Americans do not have passports.
And for millions of women who took their husband's names? If your passport doesn't match your birth certificate, this bill would fuck you hard -- so you better find that marriage license or those divorce papers and get all your documents in order ASAP.
So unless you can find 2-3 hours of time, and $200+ to expedite the process of getting these documents, you're shit out of luck.
You will NOT be able to vote. This is the point of the Save Act. Sorry, voting is for privileged white men again.
And if a MAGA POS says "you have to show an ID to fly," or better yet "you have to show ID if you want the bottomless pasta bar at Olive Garden," tell them to go fuck themselves hard... like really hard. Unless their filthy assholes are stuffed with orange bronzing cream.
