Plans Disrupted?

We all think we have it all figured out.

“I should be out of university by 22, have my own company by 25, my family before 30.”

Dreams bubbling in our hearts.

But then—life happens. The unexpected hits, and it all shatters.

Plans to be in Lekki tomorrow, yet I find myself in Kwara today.

In the process, frustration creeps in. We scramble, trying to piece it all together again.

We whisper to ourselves:

"See what my mates are doing!"

"If not for this… if not for that…", and we throw blame like stones.

Our hearts grow heavy with fear.

But… what if it’s not failure?

What if it’s not a detour?

What if it’s a call—not to fate—but to the One who sees tomorrow from today?

If only we could read between the lines, we would see His hands—preparing, molding, shaping us into the kind of people who can handle tomorrow.

Poor Joseph couldn’t have imagined Egypt while in his father’s house. He had beautiful dreams, but he never saw the prison coming. Yet, at the end of it all, he could say to his brothers:

"You meant it for evil, but God turned it for good… you thought you were sending me off, not knowing it was a send-forth to greatness."

The Israelites could say:

"Moses! You told us of a land flowing with milk and honey—how come we’re in this wilderness eating manna instead of honey?"

But it was part of the process.

A journey requiring trust.

Today may look nothing like the dreams in your heart. But remember—

You only see today.

Tomorrow is in the hands of the One who made it.

And tomorrow just might be the day you’ve been waiting for.
