Something is very off here.

Trump is turning the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool into a rushed vanity project with a no-bid contract reportedly costing taxpayers $1.5 - $6.9 million, handed to a contractor tied to his orbit, the same company that previously worked on one of his golf club pools.

Then he bragged about bypassing the normal process because he knew “a guy who’s unbelievable at doing swimming pools.”

This is a historic national monument, not Mar-a-Lago’s lazy river.

Experts are already warning the industrial coating may crack, peel, and fail because they didn’t properly fix the underlying structural problems. In other words, they may have just painted over the issue for a photo op before America’s 250th.

The reflecting pool is going to look like a repainted motel pool behind a highway casino. And unless they installed a brand-new filtration system and keep the water balanced, it’s going to turn into a green swamp within two months of opening.
