If you wake each day wondering what the hell is going on and why all of this is happening and how can it be happening, it’s not your fault.

This is the first time in our lifetimes, or maybe ever, that our entire government, all 3 branches, has completely thrown out the rule of law and United States Constitution. They just don’t care about it or us. This is just hard fact.

And if you’re having a hard time processing this fact, you have a lot of company.

What’s happening is unimaginable and people are responding differently. Some are in denial, some want to bury their heads in the sand and ignore it (you know, the I don’t get involved in politics crowd,) and some pace the floor at night wondering how to stop it, how to slow it down. And some people are just numb and moving through life as if sleepwalking.

What is happening is real and it’s scary and we don’t know where it’s going. Don’t expect people to be as you’ve always known them to be.

These days most of us fluctuate between states of fear, anger, confusion, worry, optimism, pessimism, anxiety, shock, grief, disbelief, denial, hopelessness, depression, hyperactivity and feeling totally paralyzed.

Some need to share their thoughts about it and others don’t want to discuss or hear about it at all. At times, some of us pass through all of these states in just one day.

Let’s try to offer one another as much grace as we can in wildly uncertain times and support one another as best we can.

Most of all, let’s keep fighting back as much as we can every day and agree we will never lose hope or give up.
