Unpopular opinion: Over a million people are about to march on April 5th.

And as someone with some privilege, let me be crystal clear: If you’re POC, an immigrant, a Green Card holder, disabled, trans, or part of any group thats particularly vulnerable, stay home. You’ve already done more than your share of fighting for the collective good.

Stay home. Rest. Recharge. Let the white people and those with privilege put their bodies on the line for once.

Years ago in a yoga class, a woman took my coat—twice.

The first time, she apologized and said it looked like hers.

The second time, I started to wonder if it was some kind of joke.

When she returned it, she said quietly,

I just watched my little 6 year old granddaughter go through life saving brain cancer surgery, then 6 weeks post radiation therapy. Watching a child go through this is horrendous in and of itself, but watching her parents (my oldest son & daughter in law) try to hold it all together, while we all as a family get through it day by day.

Tomorrow is her LAST treatment. 🥳Finally, the sun is going to shine through the daily fog of worry and sadness and anxiety we’ve all been carrying. And the tough cookie? My granddaughter. Braver than I’ll EVER be!! 💗💗💗

I relate to this completely.

My husband ended his life 6 months ago and I try to open car doors that aren’t mine. I find milk cartons in the cupboard. So many weird things because of the fog.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I hear you. My dad died 5 months ago and I’m the same way. Writing about it helps.
