Make money doing the work you believe in

This is an “I’ve got nothing” kind of note because real life is never constant sunshine, roses, and bird song.

I’m dealing with some chronic pain issues today (have for the last week, truth be told), and treatment isn’t for another 24 hours—I do have an appointment with my doctor. But in the meantime, until I see him, it’s going to be a hibernation day.

Hubby’s asked for a ham and cheese toastie for lunch—easy.

I’m going to have ramen noodles—comfort food and easy.

Then I’ll indulge in a day reading in bed, and the mountain of clothes at the end of the bed can wait. If I’m feeling remotely energetic, maybe I’ll put on an audiobook and tackle it. Maybe not.

I say this to my friends and family all the time. And of course, to my authors when they’re struggling with something or other. Be kind to yourself. You need to start with yourself, if not, you can’t be effective in your world.

Today, I’m taking my own advice.

Off to make a ham and cheese toastie for Hubby—with the good ham. Always the good ham.

And in the wise words of Gourmet Spoonie (he/him), fed is good enough.

Send kittens and hot chocolate.
